As a Clinic Manager at Fresenius Medical Care, you’ll manage the daily operations of our outpatient centers. More importantly, you’ll be the key driver in carrying out our mission: To deliver superior care that improves the quality of life of every patient, every day, setting the standard by which others in the health care industry are judged. This is accomplished by hiring, developing and inspiring a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with physicians, tracking and delivering superior patient outcomes and monitoring regulatory and safety requirements. Strong management skills are required and prior direct patient care experience is needed for occasions when the team needs a helping hand.

Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) at Fresenius Medical Care support and collaborate with RNs to provide dialysis treatment to several patients at a time while maintaining the functionality of the clinic. This involves prepping and testing equipment, reviewing treatment sheets, and opening the clinic at 4am for first shift. PCTs have a combination of technical skills and genuine passion needed to develop deep relationships with patients and improve their quality of life. Qualified candidates have prior customer service, healthcare and direct patient care experience, and will have the opportunity to learn the discipline of dialysis.

Fresenius Medical Care nurses are on the front line of patient care, improving the quality of life of every patient, every day. That means providing dialysis care to 10-12 patients at any given time, and collaborating with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver a unique care plan to each one of them. This role is all about relationships and the bond you’ll create with patients and their families. Prior dialysis nursing experience is helpful, but many successful candidates come from a background in ICU, PCU and/or surgery.

Inpatient RNs at Fresenius Medical Care perform dialysis treatments on an acute patient population in a hospital setting, including ICU, ER, Rehab, and Med/Surg units. What makes this role truly unique is the level of autonomy you’ll enjoy. Inpatient nurses are specifically accountable for administering and assessing each patient’s treatment plan. And because dialysis is a critical treatment for many hospital procedures and health conditions, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients. Ideal candidates possess leadership skills and independence needed to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment. Must be capable of educating patients and providing exceptional customer service to our partners. Six months to one year of dialysis experience or some form of critical care nursing experience are also required.

This role leads a large global organization with the majority of employees based in Germany, while also US, Lithuania and China, and is responsible for driving innovation, engineering excellence, product strategy, quality, regulatory leadership, and business performance.

The Opportunity

The Senior Vice President, Global Value Stream Machines is responsible for the global strategy, innovation, product portfolio lifecycle, product development, quality, regulatory, and lifecycle management of our dialysis machine portfolio. This executive leader oversees Engineering, Research & Development, Product Management, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and related functions while partnering closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Commercial Operations, and Clinical stakeholders worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the long-term innovation, technology, and product strategy for the global Value Stream portfolio.
  • Lead global Engineering, Research & Development, Product Management, Quality, and Regulatory organizations responsible for developing next-generation dialysis technologies.
  • Maintain accountability for Value Stream Machines product performance, including innovation, product development, quality, and cost performance.
  • Provide markets with regular releases of new and enhanced products aligned with portfolio strategy, quality standards, budget expectations, and timing commitments.
  • Drive innovation of new products that improve performance while enhancing competitiveness and value.
  • Own business outcomes across the portfolio, including strategic pricing, capital investment decisions, make-versus-buy evaluations, and strategic technology platform decisions.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Commercial, and Clinical stakeholders to ensure successful product development and commercialization.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement in product quality, reliability, and lifecycle performance.
  • Build organizational capability and develop future leaders across a global organization.
  • Key Performance Indicators
  • Full P&L and product life cycle ownership for Value Stream
  • Establish industry leadership in innovation, lead-time, quality, and cost performance.
  • Lead upstream marketing, value claim definitions and strategic pricing.
  • Deliver a strong pipeline of new product introductions and product enhancements.
  • Develop product architecture, releases, processes, and technologies that support long-term competitiveness.
  • Ensure successful transfer of products and releases into production environments.
  • Provide technical and manufacturing design expertise that supports product scalability and robustness.
  • Drive continuous improvement in product quality and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance across the product portfolio.
  • Develop organizational capability, leadership succession, and critical technical expertise.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Proven executive leadership experience within the Medical Device, MedTech, Healthcare Technology, Life Sciences, Automotive, or another highly regulated global industry.
  • Extensive experience leading large-scale global Engineering and Research & Development organizations, including responsibility for organizations of comparable size and complexity (approximately 700+ employees).
  • Demonstrated success in senior leadership roles with full accountability for business transformation, organizational redesign, cost optimization, operational excellence, and sustainable value creation.
  • Strong track record of challenging the status quo, driving enterprise-wide change, building high-performing organizations, and leaving a lasting organizational legacy.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, global, matrixed organizations and effectively navigate diverse stakeholder environments while making sound, independent decisions.
  • Recognized leader with a results-driven mindset, high energy, resilience, urgency, and the ability to translate strategy into execution with speed and impact.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen with a history of delivering measurable improvements in productivity, profitability, innovation, and customer outcomes.
  • Deep expertise in product development, systems engineering, research and innovation, product quality, regulatory compliance, risk management, and product lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, coach, and retain senior leadership talent while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience managing large transformation programs, including restructuring, global footprint optimization, operating model redesign, and cost management initiatives.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with Boards, Executive Committees, and global leadership teams.
  • Experience in dialysis, renal care, medical devices, or adjacent healthcare technologies is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a successful track record of having led a comparable Engineering and R&D function in previous organizations, with clear evidence of delivering transformational business and organizational outcomes.

Location & Mobility

This role is based in Germany. Given that the majority of the organization is located in Germany, relocation to Germany, ideally near Schweinfurt, is strongly preferred. Fresenius Medical Care provides relocation support for the successful candidate and family. Alternative arrangements may be considered based on talent availability. The role requires regular international travel and flexibility to lead global teams across multiple time zones.
