SAP Center of Excellence (COE) Functional Tester

The SAP S/4HANA Functional Tester is responsible for ensuring the stability, quality, and reliability of SAP S/4HANA applications within a sustain (run) environment. This role focuses on validating fixes, enhancements, and regulatory changes through structured testing across business processes, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. The tester works closely with functional consultants, developers, business stakeholders, and release management teams to support ongoing production stability and continuous improvement..

Goal of function:

The SAP COE will primarily enable transiting FME from third-party and build in-house expertise in GBS across core business process ( RTR, QTC,S2P,PTM,SC, Logistics,..etc) ; SAPS/4HANA application support (L2/L3) and Incident, problem ,and change management

1) Main tasks:

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Design, prepare, and execute functional test cases for SAP S/4HANA across supported modules (e.g., FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, QM, PM, etc.).
• Perform regression testing for patches, hotfixes, enhancements, and periodic releases.
• Validate incident fixes and change requests before deployment to production.
• Ensure end-to-end business process testing across integrated SAP modules.

Defect Management

• Log, track, and manage defects using tools such as Solution Manager, Jira, or equivalent.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring defects and collaborate with functional and technical teams on resolution.
• Re-test defect fixes and confirm closure based on acceptance criteria.

Documentation & Test Assets

• Create and maintain test scripts, test scenarios, and test data for sustain operations.
• Maintain regression test packs and ensure continuous improvement of test coverage.
• Prepare test summary reports, defect metrics, and sign-off documentation for releases.

Stakeholder & Release Support

• Coordinate with functional consultants, business users, and IT teams for UAT and release validation.
• Support cutover and go-live activities for sustain releases.
• Participate in release readiness reviews and provide quality assurance input.

Compliance & Controls

• Ensure testing complies with audit, SOX, and regulatory requirements where applicable.
• Validate business controls within SAP processes during testing cycles.

Qualifications, experience, know-how and skills critical for success*

1) Required training and education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in SAP functional testing.

2) Required professional experience (in years):

• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA AMS ,AD/ SI support.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4 HANA modules such as: FI/CO,MM,SD,PP,EWM and WM
• Experience supporting production environments.
• Experience in defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, HP ALM).
• Experience with automation tools (e.g., SAP CBTA, Tricentis Tosca).
• Experience in global rollouts or multi-country implementations.

4) Other specialized knowledge:

c) IT skills

• Experience in integration testing across SAP modules.
• Knowledge of SAP configuration impacts on testing.
• Test case design and execution expertise.
• Data validation and reconciliation skills.
• Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps testing.

d) Product knowledge

SAP Functional Knowledge

• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA business processes in any of two areas (Order-to-Cash, Source-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, Plan-to-Make, Supply-Chain-Planning, Report & Analytics, etc.).
• Experience testing standard SAP transactions, Fiori apps, and reports.
• Understanding of SAP integrations (e.g., interfaces with third-party systems).

Testing Skills

• Expertise in test case design, execution, and defect management.
• Experience with SAP Solution Manager Test Suite or equivalent test management tools.
• Knowledge of regression testing, integration testing, and UAT support.

Automation (Good to Have)

• Exposure to SAP test & performance automation tools (e.g., Tricentis Tosca, Neoload, or similar).
• Ability to identify candidates for automation within regression suites.
