As a Clinic Manager at Fresenius Medical Care, you’ll manage the daily operations of our outpatient centers. More importantly, you’ll be the key driver in carrying out our mission: To deliver superior care that improves the quality of life of every patient, every day, setting the standard by which others in the health care industry are judged. This is accomplished by hiring, developing and inspiring a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with physicians, tracking and delivering superior patient outcomes and monitoring regulatory and safety requirements. Strong management skills are required and prior direct patient care experience is needed for occasions when the team needs a helping hand.

Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) at Fresenius Medical Care support and collaborate with RNs to provide dialysis treatment to several patients at a time while maintaining the functionality of the clinic. This involves prepping and testing equipment, reviewing treatment sheets, and opening the clinic at 4am for first shift. PCTs have a combination of technical skills and genuine passion needed to develop deep relationships with patients and improve their quality of life. Qualified candidates have prior customer service, healthcare and direct patient care experience, and will have the opportunity to learn the discipline of dialysis.

Fresenius Medical Care nurses are on the front line of patient care, improving the quality of life of every patient, every day. That means providing dialysis care to 10-12 patients at any given time, and collaborating with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver a unique care plan to each one of them. This role is all about relationships and the bond you’ll create with patients and their families. Prior dialysis nursing experience is helpful, but many successful candidates come from a background in ICU, PCU and/or surgery.

Inpatient RNs at Fresenius Medical Care perform dialysis treatments on an acute patient population in a hospital setting, including ICU, ER, Rehab, and Med/Surg units. What makes this role truly unique is the level of autonomy you’ll enjoy. Inpatient nurses are specifically accountable for administering and assessing each patient’s treatment plan. And because dialysis is a critical treatment for many hospital procedures and health conditions, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients. Ideal candidates possess leadership skills and independence needed to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment. Must be capable of educating patients and providing exceptional customer service to our partners. Six months to one year of dialysis experience or some form of critical care nursing experience are also required.

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Establishes, implements, maintains, manages, and achieves all objectives, requirements, standards, practices, and procedures of the projects under their responsibility. Provides project management leadership, ensuring ownership, accountability, and governance of critical project efforts to ensure that projects are completed per timeline and budget and achieve the required quality goals, reliability, standard cost, and capacity as defined per the project plan. Participates in process to recommend options to adjust project priorities to optimize resources and manage project portfolio risk.  Leads multiple projects and facilitates activities of development, marketing, regulatory, clinical affairs, manufacturing personnel, and any other functions to ensure that predetermined requirements and timelines are met. 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives through the coordination of activities with a direct responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, coaching and development plans on best practices and standards for all projects.
  • Leads cross-functional project teams through successful completion, maintains and executes schedules and drives the quality and completion of all deliverables.
  • Uses leadership skills to ensure cross-functional resources are assigned and held accountable for task and outcome completion.
  • Conducts ongoing process to review and assess impact of changes to project scope, determine potential options and ensuring appropriate escalation, selection and approval of final decision.
  • Participates and/or leads quality team efforts to continuously improve processes and methodologies resulting in improved efficiency and project delivery in terms of time, budget and customer satisfaction.
  • Fulfills customer demand by analyzing work practices, standard operating procedures and systems for optimized and efficient work flow.
  • Implements and reviews key project performance indicators for quality, production yield, cost containment and resource optimization.  Leads appropriate and timely actions to improve metrics where required with minimal direction. 
  • Manages issue tracking and resolution for assigned projects.
  • Establishes communication plans for projects and ensure adherence to those plans maintaining appropriate communication to all project constituents and stakeholders.
  • Manages risk assessment and mitigation process for assigned projects.
  • Actively measures team morale and engagement on manufacturing lines and drives consistent improvement across all levels. 
  • Ensures adherence to established project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Interacts with internal departments and external customers; particularly in problem resolution. Acts as an advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.  Responsible for hiring, coaching and counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action and terminations.
  • Provide technical guidance.
  • Assist with various projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

  • May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of project management staff.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced Degree desirable

 

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:  

  • 6 - 8 years' project management experience in a matrixed organization, preferably in healthcare..
  • 3+ years' supervisory or project/program management experience preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
  • Proven organizational and planning skills.
  • Proven leader with demonstrated expertise in devising and implementing streamlined processes and strategic programs to improve efficiency, timeliness, and productivity while reducing costs.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading within complex organizations requiring strong influence management skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative; results oriented; strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organization and time management skills to effectively develop and execute comprehensive programs and budgets experience with project management tools and best practices.
  • Effective decision making skills -- ability to negotiate and balance decisions and priorities across needs of several functional departments and willingness to make tough decisions. Makes timely decisions in the face of risk and uncertainty.
  • Experience with application development and software development life cycle methodologies preferred.
  • Proficient with PCs and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
