As a Clinic Manager at Fresenius Medical Care, you’ll manage the daily operations of our outpatient centers. More importantly, you’ll be the key driver in carrying out our mission: To deliver superior care that improves the quality of life of every patient, every day, setting the standard by which others in the health care industry are judged. This is accomplished by hiring, developing and inspiring a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with physicians, tracking and delivering superior patient outcomes and monitoring regulatory and safety requirements. Strong management skills are required and prior direct patient care experience is needed for occasions when the team needs a helping hand.

Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) at Fresenius Medical Care support and collaborate with RNs to provide dialysis treatment to several patients at a time while maintaining the functionality of the clinic. This involves prepping and testing equipment, reviewing treatment sheets, and opening the clinic at 4am for first shift. PCTs have a combination of technical skills and genuine passion needed to develop deep relationships with patients and improve their quality of life. Qualified candidates have prior customer service, healthcare and direct patient care experience, and will have the opportunity to learn the discipline of dialysis.

Fresenius Medical Care nurses are on the front line of patient care, improving the quality of life of every patient, every day. That means providing dialysis care to 10-12 patients at any given time, and collaborating with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver a unique care plan to each one of them. This role is all about relationships and the bond you’ll create with patients and their families. Prior dialysis nursing experience is helpful, but many successful candidates come from a background in ICU, PCU and/or surgery.

Inpatient RNs at Fresenius Medical Care perform dialysis treatments on an acute patient population in a hospital setting, including ICU, ER, Rehab, and Med/Surg units. What makes this role truly unique is the level of autonomy you’ll enjoy. Inpatient nurses are specifically accountable for administering and assessing each patient’s treatment plan. And because dialysis is a critical treatment for many hospital procedures and health conditions, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients. Ideal candidates possess leadership skills and independence needed to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment. Must be capable of educating patients and providing exceptional customer service to our partners. Six months to one year of dialysis experience or some form of critical care nursing experience are also required.

Job Description

This position is for a full time Medical Assistant role in our vascular surgery center in Bellflower, CA The role is full time and will work 5 days per week with a rotating Saturday. On the week that you work on a Saturday, you will only work 4 days between Monday- Friday. The center is open Monday through Saturday 6:30am to 5:00pm. You will have daily 8 hour shifts for this full time role.

Bilingual in English & Spanish is strongly preferred.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Supports FMCNA’s mission, vision, core values, quality policy and goals of the Fresenius Vascular Care Group.  The position will act as an assistant to the Physicians, RN’s and Radiology Technicians in patient care and operating procedures.  This position has frequent contact with patients, visitors, and the families of patients requiring effective communication skills and a helpful attitude.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under general supervision, follows established company policies and procedures and applies acquired job skills to…
  • Performs functions that require full knowledge of general aspects of the job.
  • Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.
  • Contacts are typically with individuals within own department and occasionally with contacts outside own organization.  Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data requiring some explanation or interpretation.
  • May provide assistance to A1 with more general support tasks that require a better understanding of functions, as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • May refer to A3 for assistance with higher level problems that may arise.
  • Escalates issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.
  • Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Understand and able to follow sterile procedures.
  • Assist the patients to the pre-op area and take initial vital signs.
  • Assist in preparing the patient for surgical procedures by positioning, shaving and prepping.
  • Assist the Physician with the procedures, while maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Assemble and remove all instruments, utensils, equipment, gloves and linens utilized in the case.
  • Clean the procedure room between patients.
  • Transport patients as needed.
  • May participate in CQI meetings.
  • Initiate cost control initiatives and provide support of those in the facility.
  • Keep assigned areas cleaned and stocked for future exams.
  • Assure confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain quality assurance documentation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Position involves active work, including walking and/or standing for considerable lengths of time wearing a lead apron.  Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and transfer and position patients weighing up to 400 lbs.  Must work under pressure and stressful situations.  Exposure to communicable disease.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma required. Certified in CPR. 

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 1 – 2 years’ related experience preferred. Hospital or operating room skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of instrument sterilization techniques.
  • Knowledge of personal protective devices to be utilized when operating Radiology systems.

The rate of pay for this position will depend on the successful candidate’s work location and qualifications, including relevant education, work experience, skills, and competencies.

Hourly Rate: $23 - $28
