As a Clinic Manager at Fresenius Medical Care, you’ll manage the daily operations of our outpatient centers. More importantly, you’ll be the key driver in carrying out our mission: To deliver superior care that improves the quality of life of every patient, every day, setting the standard by which others in the health care industry are judged. This is accomplished by hiring, developing and inspiring a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with physicians, tracking and delivering superior patient outcomes and monitoring regulatory and safety requirements. Strong management skills are required and prior direct patient care experience is needed for occasions when the team needs a helping hand.

Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) at Fresenius Medical Care support and collaborate with RNs to provide dialysis treatment to several patients at a time while maintaining the functionality of the clinic. This involves prepping and testing equipment, reviewing treatment sheets, and opening the clinic at 4am for first shift. PCTs have a combination of technical skills and genuine passion needed to develop deep relationships with patients and improve their quality of life. Qualified candidates have prior customer service, healthcare and direct patient care experience, and will have the opportunity to learn the discipline of dialysis.

Fresenius Medical Care nurses are on the front line of patient care, improving the quality of life of every patient, every day. That means providing dialysis care to 10-12 patients at any given time, and collaborating with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver a unique care plan to each one of them. This role is all about relationships and the bond you’ll create with patients and their families. Prior dialysis nursing experience is helpful, but many successful candidates come from a background in ICU, PCU and/or surgery.

Inpatient RNs at Fresenius Medical Care perform dialysis treatments on an acute patient population in a hospital setting, including ICU, ER, Rehab, and Med/Surg units. What makes this role truly unique is the level of autonomy you’ll enjoy. Inpatient nurses are specifically accountable for administering and assessing each patient’s treatment plan. And because dialysis is a critical treatment for many hospital procedures and health conditions, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients. Ideal candidates possess leadership skills and independence needed to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment. Must be capable of educating patients and providing exceptional customer service to our partners. Six months to one year of dialysis experience or some form of critical care nursing experience are also required.

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

This role is responsible for managing and coordinating all resources (including across department lines), monitoring performance, and serving as the subject matter expert for all payer DIR programming. 

   

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives through the coordination of activities with a direct responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.

  • Provides leadership, coaching and development plans for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with Human Resources on employee matters.

  • Takes lead on program development efforts.

  • Extremely technically proficient in DIR programs with substantial knowledge of industry practice and business principles.  Has a large range within a department or multiple departments.

  • A strong tactical decision-maker; will take primarily responsibility for executing programs to manage DIR and reduce FRx exposure.  Handles unforeseen issues.

  • Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.  Has significant project/process responsibility within the function.

  • Interprets company-wide policies and procedures.  Involved in the development, modification and execution of company policies that affect immediate operations with potential company-wide effect.  Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Engages business analyst to aid in development of processes and analytical resources.

  • Reviews objectives to determine the success of DIR management operations.  Manages activities and operations across two or more departments.  Establishes operational objectives and assures adherence to schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.

  • Generally manages program monitoring and day-to-day functions.  Develops schedules and performance standards.  Exercises supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing for direct and dotted line resources.

  • Decisions have an extended impact on work processes and outcomes.  Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations, and may jeopardize overall business activities.

  • Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship.  Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers, providing routing updates on program status, accomplishments, and management.

  • Interacts frequently with internal departments; particularly in problem resolution.  May be responsible for directly or collaboratively hiring, coaching and counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action and terminations.

  • Provides technical guidance.

  • Assists with various projects as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

  • May be responsible for the direct or indirect supervision of various levels of DIR responsible staff.

   

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced Degree desirable.

   

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 6 - 8 years' related experience.
  • Understanding of pharmacy and DIR
  • 3+ years' experience as a Manager preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage one or more departments.
  • Proven track record of program development from scratch
  • Demonstrated Ability to track and monitor success metrics, respond to analytic feedback to make process improvements
