As a Clinic Manager at Fresenius Medical Care, you’ll manage the daily operations of our outpatient centers. More importantly, you’ll be the key driver in carrying out our mission: To deliver superior care that improves the quality of life of every patient, every day, setting the standard by which others in the health care industry are judged. This is accomplished by hiring, developing and inspiring a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with physicians, tracking and delivering superior patient outcomes and monitoring regulatory and safety requirements. Strong management skills are required and prior direct patient care experience is needed for occasions when the team needs a helping hand.

Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) at Fresenius Medical Care support and collaborate with RNs to provide dialysis treatment to several patients at a time while maintaining the functionality of the clinic. This involves prepping and testing equipment, reviewing treatment sheets, and opening the clinic at 4am for first shift. PCTs have a combination of technical skills and genuine passion needed to develop deep relationships with patients and improve their quality of life. Qualified candidates have prior customer service, healthcare and direct patient care experience, and will have the opportunity to learn the discipline of dialysis.

Fresenius Medical Care nurses are on the front line of patient care, improving the quality of life of every patient, every day. That means providing dialysis care to 10-12 patients at any given time, and collaborating with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver a unique care plan to each one of them. This role is all about relationships and the bond you’ll create with patients and their families. Prior dialysis nursing experience is helpful, but many successful candidates come from a background in ICU, PCU and/or surgery.

Inpatient RNs at Fresenius Medical Care perform dialysis treatments on an acute patient population in a hospital setting, including ICU, ER, Rehab, and Med/Surg units. What makes this role truly unique is the level of autonomy you’ll enjoy. Inpatient nurses are specifically accountable for administering and assessing each patient’s treatment plan. And because dialysis is a critical treatment for many hospital procedures and health conditions, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients. Ideal candidates possess leadership skills and independence needed to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment. Must be capable of educating patients and providing exceptional customer service to our partners. Six months to one year of dialysis experience or some form of critical care nursing experience are also required.

Job Description

Hybrid: Upon agreement between you and your supervisor, you are entitled to a flexible arrangement where you will be able to split your time between working from the Lawrence, MA or Waltham, MA office and working remotely.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The position plays a key leadership role for the Compliance Department with focus on multiple significant businesses or functional areas within the designated country. The position is responsible for strategic leadership within the Compliance Department, continual improvement of the Compliance Program and a focus on promoting team work and collaboration across the Department and between the Department and other components of Fresenius Medical Care within the specified country. The position regularly interacts with senior business leadership has broad decision making authority and accountability within assigned areas of responsibility. The position reports to the Chief Compliance Officer, Care Enablement.
 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides strategic leadership of overall objectives through the application of thoughtful techniques in the communication of the company’s mission and core values as a means to effect positive change and/or create organizational structure within the assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Lead operational efforts to complete the administration of compliance processes and services to ensure effective achievement of goals within the assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Direct the broad activities of the Compliance Department within assigned areas of responsibility through the development, interpretation, application and implementation of company-wide policies and procedures relevant to the assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of and model exemplary behavior with respect to compliance the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Ensure all employees within the assigned team(s) understand and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations; establishing and maintaining effective internal systems and controls to promote compliance.

  • Devote substantial focus to effective collaboration within the Global Compliance Department and partnering with Human Resources on employee relations issues.

  • Strategic leader with broad-based knowledge of compliance, the business and industry with an emphasis on providing strategic solutions and thought leadership to the business.

  • Responsible for overseeing compliance-related activity for multiple functions. Has maintenance responsibilities over budget with respect to assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Establishes protocols in the facilitation of strategic interdepartmental cooperation, motivating development of new tools and methods for dealing with crisis situations.

  • Exercises broad decision making authority within areas of responsibility. Decisions are often complex with significant organizational impact; erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of long-term company operations.

  • Interacts with all levels of the organization to manage the Compliance Program in areas of responsibility. Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers.

  • Assist with various projects as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 10+ years’ experience.

  • 7+ years’ experience in health care legal, compliance or comparable role

  • 3+ years’ experience in an internal senior management level role (e.g., Sr. Director); or 3+ years’ external experience in a senior management level role.

  • Demonstrated experience managing one or more business relationships or functions.

  • Ability to function with little direct supervision, identify key risk areas and exercise judgment in elevating significant issues.

  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

The rate of pay for this position will depend on the successful candidate’s work location and qualifications, including relevant education, work experience, skills, and competencies.

Rate: $147,700 - $246,200
