As the Country Medical Director, you will lead the medical strategy, patient care oversight, and clinical operations across all NephroCare in the Czech Republic. You will ensure that medical care aligns with corporate goals, legal standards, and quality benchmarks while driving performance improvements in clinical outcomes. Your role will be pivotal in fostering relationships with key healthcare stakeholders and developing the medical team’s capacity to meet current and future healthcare challenges.
Leadership & Medical Supervision:
Supervise medical patient care in all Nephrology Centers, establishing medical targets, including cost-related objectives (e.g., anemia management costs) in line with the NephroCare Value Program, Balanced ScoreCard, and Medical Patient Review .
Monitor and benchmark medical results and the performance of NC centers, ensuring alignment with medical targets through the use of BSC, MPR, and benchmarking reports.
Organize and oversee medical meetings, both accredited and non-accredited, for healthcare professionals within and outside the NephroCare clinic network, collaborating closely with EMEA departments.
Management & Steering:
Represent the medical function at the country management level, ensuring transparency in clinical performance, medical surveillance, and risk factors.
Enable medical management teams to harmonize clinical processes, collaborating with the Global Medical Office, Clinical & Therapeutic Governance, EMEA Operations, and Digital Strategy departments to implement process improvements.
Ensure compliance with corporate strategies, policies (e.g., FME’s Quality Policy), and local regulatory standards, including safety and hygiene regulations.
Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key healthcare stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, public hospitals, and national nephrology and medical societies.
Represent the company in the scientific community and, where necessary, organize an internal scientific board to strengthen communication between the local medical team and the broader healthcare community.
Coordination & Support:
Regularly coordinate activities with the Global Medical Office and the Clinical & Therapeutic Governance team to ensure alignment with global medical strategies.
Support the recruitment and development of medical directors and physicians, working closely with HR and Fresenius Medical Care Operations management to define roles and responsibilities.
Operations & Quality Control:
Address deviations from clinical standards and treatment incidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions to enhance patient safety and care quality.
Identify and resolve clinic performance and quality outliers, acting as an expert medical reviewer and auditor.
Analyze the impact of regulatory, social, and political changes on patient care, participating in value-based decision-making that affects clinical outcomes.
Medical Degree with specialization in nephrology or a related field.
Extensive experience in medical leadership, clinical management, and patient care oversight.
Strong understanding of corporate strategies, clinical benchmarking, and process harmonization.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with national and regional healthcare authorities and scientific communities.
Proven ability to ensure compliance with corporate and legal standards, especially in medical safety and hygiene.
Experience in medical education, organizing accredited and non-accredited training programs for healthcare professionals.
