Homecare Pharmacist – Huthwaite

We are seeking a talented Pharmacist to fulfil an exciting and important role which will be instrumental in supporting the pharmacy services. In liaison with the Pharmacy Service Manager, superintendent pharmacist, logistics departments, and customer care, this role will support Fresenius Medical Care as we continue to strive to provide the high quality medicines and health homecare service that we are respected for.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious pharmacist to join the medicines homecare industry and, with diligence, to develop under the leadership and support of an experienced homecare pharmacy department. Providing care to patients across England, Scotland and Wales.

The role will involve working as the Responsible Pharmacist in coordination with other pharmacists, providing support in the pharmacy by clinically screening prescriptions and, at times, supporting other aspects of the dispensing process.  Additionally, the role will support the contact with our NHS customers and patients providing support and expertise when required.

Reporting to the Pharmacy Services Manager, this role will be able to learn and develop key specialist knowledge and skills, building on their own expertise as a pharmacist.  We are committed to providing education, training and opportunity to develop within this exciting new role.

This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours, working 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday, based at our head office in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire.

What does the role involve?

You will:

  • Support the Pharmacy Services Manager to ensure the Pharmacy is managed according to regulatory and service requirements
  • To undertake the role of Responsible Pharmacist on rotation with other pharmacists
  • Provide support for meetings with external stakeholders when required
  • Provide pharmacy advice to logistics/customer care teams to help support the provision of a high quality medicines homecare service
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, clinical governance, applicable legislation, pharmacy ethics and general duty of care

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Degree (BPharm, MPharm)
  • Current GPhC Registration

Required Professional Experience:

  • Experience of working as a registered pharmacist in any sector, ideally in a homecare setting
