What qualifications are required to apply?

Eligible international candidates must take and pass the NCLEX state board exam in the US state where they will be employed with Fresenius Medical Care.

What expenses are covered by Fresenius Medical Care?

Fresenius Medical Care will reimburse international candidates for the following expenses:

  • NCLEX
  • English Exam
  • Visa Screen
  • Licensure Application Fees and CES Report
  • Medical Exam (up to $400) 
  • 30 Days of Housing
  • Candidate Air Travel and Baggage
  • Transportation from Airport

Candidates are responsible for expenses related to dependents and spouse.

Which US locations have available roles for international candidates?

Fresenius Medical Care recruits candidates internationally for placement in registered nursing roles throughout the United States.

What nursing specialty positions are available?

Fresenius Medical Care offers opportunities in the following speciaties:

  • Outpatient Care
  • Acute In-patient Care
  • Home Therapy
Is previous experience as a registered nurse required?

Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is required, however, experience in dialysis care is not a requirement.

Our Talent Acquisition team is also available to assist candidates who are interested in working for Fresenius Medical Care in their home country, subject to available job openings. 

Will I be required to pass a language exam?

Yes, a language exam is required. The exam you choose can have an impact on state licensure
We recommend candidates take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam.

Is there an NCLEX sponsorship program available?

Fresenius Medical Care will reimburse candidates one time for NCLEX fees.

Employment and Benefits

Who is my employer?

Our international nursing program hires registered nurses directly as employees of Fresenius Medical Care.

Who sponsors my immigration petition?

Individual candidate immigration cases are sponsored by the clinic location in which the candidate will work after hire.

Am I required to commit to the length of my employment with Fresenius Medical Care?

Candidates will agree to a two-year commitment to their sponsoring location.  If they leave before this, the candidate will be responsible for a prorated amount of their immigration and relocation expenses.

When is the employment offer made?

Candidates selected for hire will receive their job offer before beginning the immigration process.

Is premium processing available?

Fresenius Medical Care will cover premium processing fees if needed to speed up the immigration process.

How will I be supported after being hired and for how long?

New employees in the International RN Program undergo a comprehensive 12-week training program focused on their new role.

Additionally, all new employees at Fresenius Medical Care take part in our onboarding program, which introduces each new hire to our organization, mission, values and culture.

Whenever possible, new International RN employees are partnered with an experienced local colleague to support them as they transition into their new role.

  • Permanent Employment-Based-3 Green Card
  • Trade NAFTA (TN)
  • Adjustment of Status (initial and endorsement)
