Every year, colleagues across Fresenius Medical Care face moments they could never have planned for, such as sudden illness, personal loss, natural disasters, or other serious hardships that turn everyday life upside down. The CARES Fund exists for those moments. And in 2025, it continued to make a meaningful impact on employees globally.

What is Fresenius Medical Care’s CARES Fund?

The CARES Fund provides confidential financial assistance to eligible Fresenius Medical Care employees impacted by serious and unforeseen hardship. It is open to colleagues globally and managed independently to protect privacy and ensure fairness.

• Applications are confidential and handled with care
• Support is needs-based and offered in a timely manner
• Any eligible colleague can apply, regardless of role or location

The CARES Fund exists because no one should face a life-altering crisis alone.

The impact in 2025

Over the course of 2025, the CARES Fund provided direct, confidential support to colleagues when they needed it most:

• Nearly 1,200 grants awarded
• More than $795,000 USD in financial assistance to employees
• Support delivered globally, including to colleagues in Australia, Germany, Israel, Mexico, the Philippines, Romania, Slovakia, Türkiye, Ukraine, and the United States

Each grant represents a colleague who received help through a critical moment — with care, discretion, and dignity.

Colleagues coming together to help

The CARES Fund is powered by the generosity of Fresenius Medical Care employees around the world and the company’s commitment to match employee donations. In 2025, employees voluntarily contributed more than $350,000 to the fund. With the company’s matching contributions, this support expanded the total available assistance, enabling support for colleagues during critical times.

Across the organization, teams and individuals also organized fundraising initiatives to support the CARES Fund. From personal challenges to team events and fundraising activities, these efforts helped raise additional awareness and funding, and strengthen a shared sense of connection and community. Together, these contributions demonstrate the culture of care that defines Fresenius Medical Care.
